After spending the majority of your life in agriculture, you live through a lot of changes. As the old saying goes, the more things change, the more they stay the same. So while farming continues to evolve, it all drives towards the goal of improving yields and the bottom line. Realizing that goal, however, is easier said than done.
When your crops aren’t delivering the desired outcome, it can be tempting to rush to judgments and make hasty investments in different remedies. But that can be very risky. That’s where informed decisions based on cold, hard data comes into play. We specialize in demystifying the ways to improve yields through various approaches, such as data-driven soil sampling.
Because next to getting enough water, soil pH and nutrient levels are the most vital part of reaching your maximum yield, which makes soil sampling so important. Rainfall may be uncontrollable, but correct pH and nutrient levels aren’t! Achieving the optimal pH level for your specific crop and soil type allows each plant to reach its full nutrient uptake potential, which means the fertilizer that you apply is being utilized to its fullest potential.
What we do for our clients includes a very in-depth and meticulous approach to soil sampling that starts with taking soil core samples in an organized way where each core is deposited in a bag with a unique sample ID that coincides with specific GPS coordinates where an E4 agronomist took the sample. By doing this process multiple times in precise areas of the field, we can help the grower determine where nutrients need to be optimized. These samples are sent to labs approved by E4.
Instead of just getting a soil sample report, we integrate the data from the soil samples with our E4 Crop Intelligence software. Once the soil samples are processed at the sanctioned labs, those results are fed directly back to the E4 Agronomic Testing software module. Then, based on the lab results, a fertilizer prescription is automatically generated and is accessible to customers utilizing E4’s Fertilizer Prescription service. The Fertility Rx software module can generate blanket and variable rate application cards and maps for your farms. The soil testing data is then stored in the E4 Data Bank software feature for future reference, enabling year-over-year comparative analysis for the future.
Our expert team is always here to ensure you are equipped with the best data and insights to generate the best possible outcomes for your next farming decision. If you want to improve your yield and field health, contact us to help you with your soil analysis needs!
